It all started in New York on the first summer day in 1934. When Tom Carvel’s ice cream truck got a flat tire, he pulled over and began selling the slightly melted ice cream. Much to his surprise, people preferred it softer. Soft serve ice cream was invented. The rest, as they say, is history.
Tom Carvel – born in Athens, Greece in 1906, began his ice cream business in New York in 1929. He was an innovator who held over 300 patents including the original soft serve machine. Carvel has always led the soft serve industry and over time has become a beloved institution in it’s origin city of New York and the east coast of the United States.
Now as Carvel® begins expanding internationally, the brand has partnered with Cinnabon Australia to sell the original Carvel soft serve in select Cinnabon bakeries in Sydney. Along the Carvel classics, you can also enjoy Carvel + Cinnabon mashups products that are not even available in Carvels in NY! Carvel Australia Store No.1
Carvel will launch within our Westfield Miranda bakery in the south of Sydney on Sun 22 December 2024. Subsequent new bakeries in Sydney will also include Carvel and we will also be adding Carvel to existing bakeries. We are starting in Sydney, but hope to soon expand Carvel’s presence throughout Australia.
